In all likelihood we would have been pretty ambivalent about this campground if not for the standout customer service. It's amazing what a difference friendly, helpful staff can make.

Campground website: Grand Ole RV Resort
Our Site #: 12
Privacy Rating (how spacious and private do the sites feel):
2/5: As with most commercial campgrounds, RVs were parked very close to one another with just a strip of grass and a picnic table between them. We lucked out by being assigned an end spot, so we had a bit more space than others, but our view was of RVs on all sides.
Location Rating (accessibility to points of interest or to major highways):
4/5: This park is about a 25 minute drive from downtown Nashville. It is an easy drive, and traffic in Nashville is not all that bad, but it definitely was a lengthier drive than some other close-to-the-city parks we've stayed in. It's certainly workable, and relatively convenient, but I imagine we would have gone into the city more often if the campground was a bit closer. Otherwise, the location is good. There is an excellent Publix Supermarket a couple miles away, and all the other conveniences you could need are nearby. Additionally, the campground has a small store that sells some essentials (read: beer).
Site Quality and Big Rig Accessibility Rating (utilities and accessibility of campground hook ups):
4/5: The sites themselves were fine as far as the utilities and their placement go. As for big rig accessibility, it just depends on what site you get. Some sites are bigger than others and therefore would be easier to get into. All in all, the campground felt tight, but there were plenty of large rigs there.
Technology and Customer Service Rating (online resources, reservations, and staff):
5/5: I had to call to book reservations, but that's pretty typical for this type of park. Customer service is where this place really shines. The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. It is obviously a family run operation and they take pride in their park. We were approached multiple times by employees asking if we needed anything and even given a business card by one of the guys for assistance after hours. The overall warmth of the staff seemed to transfer to our fellow visitors who were also very friendly and happy to be there.
Internet Availability Rating (Verizon coverage or campground wifi):
4/5: Wifi in the campground was passable and served our purposes. Verizon was solid.
This is a place that would be pretty forgettable if not for their great customer service. The staff really takes pride in their park and their work, and it shows. As for convenience, it is reasonably close to Nashville and not a bad jumping off point to explore the city. I wish it had been a little bit closer, but it worked for us. We would be willing to stay here again if in the area.
