The last travelogue I wrote was back in the Summer after we'd crossed the country from west to east. What followed was six months of catching up with friends and family after a two-year hiatus due to Covid.

Our late-winter exit from Florida had a little bit of everything: Beautiful parks, terrible drives, and some nice surprises.

Question: Name one modern task that could result in as much anxiety as working at Mission Control on July 24, 1969 when Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin made their way to the lunar surface.

I have good news and I have bad news. The good news is, the Florida State Parks are a fabulous place to spend the winter in an RV. The bad news is, every RVer on the planet knows it.

On October 1st, we were in Michigan preparing to head south after spending a phenomenal Summer along the Great Lakes. By November 1st, we were in North Carolina discussing whether we should call it quits and settle down.

We attended both a practice during the week and the air show on the weekend, and quickly learned that photographing these jets can be a giant pain in the ass.

Just down the street from Grayton Beach, on the spectacular Gulf Coast of Florida, is the picture perfect, but kinda bizarre, community of Seaside.

Our week in Grayton Beach was less about beaches and sunsets and more about new friends and happy hours, and that was A-OK with us.

Visit any Florida State Park and you'll be greeted with the motto "The Real Florida." It is, no doubt, a response to the belief among many that "Florida" equals "Disney World."

A quick visit to historic Savannah followed by a lengthier stay in our nation's oldest city.
