The day after the Kentucky Derby we left Louisville and started toward Virginia where good friends of ours were getting married on May 20th.

It occurred to me as we visited the homeland of Virginia last week that we were fielding a lot of really interesting questions, and actually being able to answer those questions made me realize just how much we've figured out over these past ten months.

After Lexington, we headed west to Louisville with the goal of attending the 143rd Kentucky Derby. Luckily the Derby was great because the rest of our visit was kind of a disaster.

Lexington is a hard place not to love. Who doesn't enjoy rolling pastures, winding country roads, idyllic horse farms, and historic bourbon distilleries?

If you had asked me a year ago which destination I thought would be the first we'd return to, I can assure you my answer would not have been 'Nashville.'

If there is one word I would use to describe the National Civil Rights Museum, it is "exhausting."

We wanted to visit Graceland because it's one of those bucket list things you kinda have to do if you're out on a Great American Road Trip, but we almost bagged the idea...

There were three major things I wanted to see in Dallas: (1) Dealey Plaza; (2) the George W. Bush Presidential Library; and (3) Cowboys Stadium burn to the ground.

While we did not get to do everything we wanted to do in Austin, we did see and do a lot.

When it came to Austin, our timing was spot on, luck was on our side, and the end result was an awesome two week visit to a fantastic city.
