Introduction:

We stayed at this park for two nights as it is conveniently located off I-10 and was a perfect place to stop as we traveled west. However, absent our 50% discount with Passport America, we would have a hard time justifying the cost of this place.

The Basics:

Overall Rating: 3.5/5

Price per night / Discounts: $22.5 / 50% off with Passport America.

Campground website: Gulf Coast RV Resort

Our Site #: Unknown

Privacy Rating (how spacious and private do the sites feel):

1/5: Sites are right next to one another with minimal space between RVs. When our neighbors were sitting outside at their picnic table, we could hear every word of their conversation. There is no privacy at all.

Location Rating (accessibility to points of interest or to major highways):

3.75/5: This park was right off I-10, so very convenient for a stopover, but there wasn't much to see in the area. Beaumont does have all your standard necessities, so again, as a stopover, it was convenient, but I wouldn't suggest staying here for long.

Site Quality and Big Rig Accessibility Rating (utilities and accessibility of campground hook ups):

5/5: The park itself is well maintained. The sites are very nice - long, level, and they have good utilities. All of the sites are pull throughs, and there is plenty of space to navigate. Easy in and out and back on the highway...

Technology and Customer Service Rating (online resources, reservations, and staff):

3.75/5: We had to call for reservations, but their website was relatively updated which was good.

Internet Availability Rating (Verizon coverage or campground wifi):

4/5: Verizon worked fine.

Summary:

Absent a 50% off price through Passport America, we would not have stayed here. The campground is very conveniently located and easy to get in and out of off I-10, but there is zero privacy at the sites and little to do in the area. If just stopping by for a night or two, it's ok, but $45 per night (the regular non-discounted price) is an awful lot to pay for a parking lot in which we could hear every word of our neighbors' conversation,
